First blog post in a while.
I didn't think of this before but I have a blog....A place where I can share and type my thoughts opinions and desires.
The sad thing is I almost never have something I want to write about, and especially online I suddenly get major writers block. The problem is I feel uncomfortable sharing what I truly want to say sometimes.
In this case perhaps it is better to follow some guidelines when posting online;
1. never slander someone else (no matter how annoying you find them). James 4:11 says, Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
I think I learned this valuable lesson when I was in 8th or 9th grade 13 or 14 and I cursed my grandma off on xanga and she found it. I was pretty embarrassed and she was pretty upset. I still wonder if our relationship was ever the same. One moment of anger and that caused weeks of guilt, months of being grounded, and an emotionally fractured grandmother. The funny thing is I don't even remember what happened or what she did that made me that angry. I don't even know why I was mad to begin with, but I definitely remember how hurt she was by my words. How shamefull. At least I learned my lesson.
What is something else not to post on one of these blogs?
2. never post secrets unless you don't mind sharing them
3. do not post "you would blush if your mother saw them" photos.
4. DO NOT confess your love to someone through poetry and then give them a link to the site
5.You know if you are going to get that personal, you might as well not share that you have a blog in the first place.
6. Don't be scared of having people disagree with you if you write about politics
7. Don't be afraid to post stories and poems if you like them :-).
Well, I am at work now so I don't think I should stay on here. I think I may start keeping a blog though and posting things on here.
Goals for the next 6 months:
Run a 10k
Read the old testament
Run a half marathon
Be able to swim 30 laps in a row without stopping or drowning (buy a swimmers baithing suit)
Get better at women's ministry- start a bible study with at least 5 regular attenders, find a new outreach place for meeting new women. Record everything you've ever done for women's ministry in a document.
Run a full marathon
read psalms and pray them.
Read 2 books a month: one for learning and one for pleasure read.
Watch the news or listen to NPR and just overall know more about what is going on in the world and politics. Pray for the world and politics more.
pray for friends and family more.
Pursue people more intentionally (especially non christian friends)
share the gospel with 4 non christian friends.
post 1 a week or at least 2x a month.
AFTNAASW---this one is in code until it happens.
OK time to see what this bad boy looks like. PEACE!
